Police make arrests after Dudley armed robbery

Police have arrested four men over an armed robbery at a Dudley travel agents after pursuing a stolen car yesterday morning.

Officers spotted the Seat - which is believed to have been involved in the raid last Friday - while on patrols in Walsall at around 2.40am.

The vehicle tried to make off along Wolverhampton Road but was stung and came to a stop on Bloxwich Lane shortly afterwards. 

Three men - aged 18, 20 and 22 - were arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft of a motor vehicle. A second vehicle which was seen with the Seat was stopped by officers on nearby Southbourne Avenue and a baton was recovered from the boot. 

A 30-year-old man was detained on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. 

All four remain in police custody for questioning this afternoon.

It was reported four men had entered Co-op Travel in High Street at around 10.20am last Friday (18 February) armed with a knife and machete. Staff were forced to open safes before cash was taken.
