Rowley drink-driver avoids jail term

A Rowley Regis drink driver has been banned from driving for 3 years.

Louise Mary Monkton, of Penn Road, Rowley Regis, had 153mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath when she was caught behind the wheel in Cradley Heath on July 13. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

She was sent to prison for 14 weeks, suspended for two years and must carry out 120 hours unpaid work.

Monkton must also pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £135 court costs.
