Sandwell's children services still face "substantial challenges"

A critical report has revealed “substantial challenges” remain for Sandwell’s safeguarding children services.

The Sandwell Safeguarding Children Board’s annual report made the findings, but also showed “significant progress” in the last 12 months.

Board chairman John Harris said effectiveness needed improving within the local authority and individual partner organisations.

He said they had to continue to improve their response to child sexual exploitation.
