SCOPE charity shop needs more volunteers

Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb visited the SCOPE charity shop on the High Street on Saturday to meet staff, volunteers and to help out.

The charity aims to support disability equality and the shop sells clothes, toys, books, electronics, DVDs and other items.

Currently run by assistant managers Marie Young and Lisa Holt, the shop has a wide age range of volunteers, from pensioners to students volunteering for their Duke of Edinburgh award. One volunteer has been there for 20 years. Suzanne said:

“I really enjoyed this visit and meeting Lisa and Marie who are doing a great job making money for this brilliant cause. It’s important I get out and about in Stourbridge to meet people and this was no exception.

“I am also really happy to put out a call for more volunteers for the shop. It needs them and if anyone can spare a few hours please pop in and have a chat. I hope to do some volunteering at the shop myself in the future.”
