Sedgley campaigner gets road safety funding

Sedgley campaigner Damian Corfield has secured funding from Dudley Council for new road safety improvements on the Northway.

Mr Corfield, who is standing as Labour’s candidate for Sedgley in the upcoming local elections has worked with campaigners from the Northway Action Group.

The group raised concerns about accidents on the road and have pushed for safety measures to be put in place.

The funding will be used to install flashing speed awareness signs, road markings and a new crossing near Alder Coppice School.

A new Speedwatch group to monitor dangerous driving on the road will also be set up.
