Plans have been unveiled to relocate a Stourbridge post office to a new location and extend its operating hours.

The branch, on the corner of Junction Road and Hungary Hill, is set to move around half a mile away to the Spar shop on Grange Road, with a modernisation upgrade, as well as opening on Sundays.

The move would result in it being open to the public for an extra 38 hours a week.

The Post Office's Region Manager, Suzanne Richardson, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Stourbridge and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the post office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

A six-week public consultation has now been launched, ending on 1st February 2016.

People can submit their views by visiting www.postofficeviews.co.uk using branch code 215208, or by calling 03457 22 33 44.
