Summerhill pupils celebrating after GCSE success

Students and staff are celebrating at Summerhill School after achieving excellent results for another year.

 The school has built on last year’s record breaking results with strong further improvements this time around.
 
Nearly 50 students achieved at least one of the new gold standard grade 9 results - and more students than ever achieved the new strong grade 5 pass in both English and Maths, well above the national average. Star pupils at the Lodge Lane School included: 

Imogen Lemm (Seven Grade 9s, Two A*s, One Grade 8); 
Claudia Lee (Six Grade 9s, One A*, One Grade 8, One Grade 7); 
Thomas Slater (Six Grade 9s, Three Grade 8s, One Grade 7); 
Lauren Wild (Two Grade 9s, One A*, Five Grade 8s, One Grade 7); 
Ben Cassidy (Two Grade 9s, One A*, Five Grade 8s, Two Grade 7s); 
Louisa Perry (Two Grade 9s, Four Grade 8s, Two Grade 7s, One A, One Grade 6); 
Ria Hunt (One Grade 9, Four Grade 8s, Four Grade 7s, One A); 
Julia Miller (One Grade 9, Five Grade 8s, Three Grade 7s, One Grade 6).
 
James Bowkett, Executive Headteacher said:

“We are extremely proud of the tremendous success achieved by our students in their GCSEs this year.  The results are due to the hard work of students, staff and parents working together to support our children to achieve their potential.
