Superfast broadband arrives in Dudley

Homes across Dudley borough are set to benefit from faster internet access as the Black Country’s superfast broadband infrastructure is extended.

The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership and the four Black Country local authorities; Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton, are working together to extend superfast broadband infrastructure to areas across the Black Country.

The initiative is part of a government project which aims to deliver better broadband access to rural areas, cities and other areas, extending the availability of high-speed fibre broadband to 98 percent of homes and businesses in Dudley in less than three years.

Faster internet access, quicker downloads and more family members being able to get online at once are just some of the benefits of a superfast broadband connection at home.

Businesses can also take advantage by being able to connect with customers more easily and efficiently and will be in a better position to meet the ever changing requirements for development and growth. Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:

“This initiative is long overdue, and a fantastic step into the right direction for Black Country residents and businesses. We encourage as many people as possible to find out if they’re eligible for superfast broadband and the benefits it brings.”
