Teacher killed himself with disposable barbecue

An inquest has heard how a 36-year-old Cradley Heath teacher with a history of depression took his own life by lighting a disposable barbecue in his car.

Anthony Morbach-Jenkins was found dead in the vehicle, which was discovered in a layby by a member of the public in Belbroughton in September.

Worcester Coroners Court heard he died from carbon monoxide poisoning after lighting the barbecue and then sitting in the car as it burned.

The hearing was told that Mr. Morbach-Jenkins, who taught at St. Peter’s Catholic School in Solihull, had left a suicide note in the boot of the vehicle.
