Theatre membership scheme enters a new era

Wolverhampton Grand theatre’s membership scheme, 'Friends Of The Grand', has welcomed a new chairman.

The group's former treasurer, Richard Bourne. has accepted the position following a successful 12 year’s service from Gordon Hands, who will remain on the committee. Upon accepting his new position Richard was keen to share his pride in taking on the new role and also to lay out his personal vision for the future. He said:

"The ‘Friends’ organisation has always been close to my heart and now to be appointed as Chair is a most humbling experience and one that I am extremely proud of.

"I am always keen to promote the many benefits on offer to both existing and new members in order to help increase membership numbers, but the big message for me is the patronage of the theatre.

"I intend to concentrate our forthcoming funding initiatives on growing the production investment ambitions. We will support our hard working and creative Artistic Director and Chief Executive, Adrian Jackson and his team as he and they continue to attract bigger and more ambitious productions to the theatre.

"The more ‘Friends’ we have the more ambitious we can become and the more we can deliver to theatre lovers in our area”
