Thousands turnout for Himley Hall under 5s day

Himley Hall and Park provided the perfect setting as record numbers of people turned out to enjoy the sunshine at the ever-popular under 5s day event.

Organisers estimate more than 6,000 people attended the event, which included special guest appearances from Peppa Pig and her brother George.

The event included Music Bugs, Rugby Tots, Creation Station, Baby Ballet, Moo Music, Baby Glowbugs, Mini First Aid, Baby Hartbeeps with Sling Swing, Baby and Toddler Sensory and animal corner with giant tortoises.

Himley Hall and Park’s very own beach, complete with giant sandpit, buckets and spades and Punch and Judy Shows were also a big hit with younger visitors. Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said:

“It’s a pleasure as the Mayor of Dudley to be invited down to Himley Hall to attend this prestigious event.

“The grounds have been absolutely packed, people have really enjoyed themselves and the weather hasn’t let us down.

“It’s been a wonderful opportunity to come as first citizen of the borough and meet such lovely people, especially the youngsters.”

Event organisers will now be focussing their efforts on Armed Forces Day, which takes place in the grounds of Himley Hall and Park tomorrow.
