Traffic PC prosecuted for drink driving

A serving West Midlands Police traffic officer has been banned from driving for two years and fined £1,425 after admitting drink-driving.

PC Chris Blount, who is currently off work for an extended period, was arrested on 6 November last year after being stopped by officers from West Midlands Police at around 2:30am on the Black Country Route.

He will now face internal disciplinary proceedings following a hearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.

The ultimate sanction the 49-year-old could face is dismissal from the force.
