Vacancies At Borough Sheltered Housing

Several vacancies have become available at four popular sheltered housing schemes in the Dudley borough.

Dudley Council’s sheltered housing complexes offer older people the perfect combination of maintaining their independence along with the assurance of safety and security.

The schemes; Netherton Lodge in Dudley, Church View in Lower Gornal, Joe Jones Court in Sedgley and The Gables in Kingswinford offer a variety of flats and flatlets each with their own front door, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

Supportive staff are on hand for help if required and all properties are linked to a 24-hour monitoring centre. There is also a secure door entry system, laundry facilities, attractive gardens, shared kitchen, guest bedroom, and communal lounges where tenants can get together and a range of social activities take place.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing, said:

“Everyone wants to feel safe and secure in their own home, particularly as they get older. Our sheltered housing schemes provide the perfect solution for many older people, who feel happy and secure living in them.

"If there are care needs our dedicated team of care professionals work with tenants to ensure that each individual’s needs are met. At the same time people continue to live independently in their own flat, with their own front door but with the benefit of communal facilities and the reassurance that help is on hand as and when needed.”

Anyone interested in finding out more about available properties in the identified schemes, as well as across the borough, should call 01384 812042.
