Free parking extended in run up to Christmas

All day free parking will be available in town centres across the borough as an early Christmas present from Dudley Council.

Shoppers can already park for free for up to two hours on council car parks, but the latest move aims to extend that to help boost trade during the festive season.

Free parking will be available on council car parks across the borough on Saturday 11th and 18th December. There will also be free parking in Dudley and Brierley Hill when the town hosts their festive lights events on November 27.

Visitors to Sedgley on November 28 will also be able to park for free for the town’s festive lights event. There will also be free parking in Kingswinford for the event on December 4. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:

"It’s something we like to do every year to help traders and shoppers when they need it most – call it an early Christmas present from us!

"It is really important we encourage people into our town centres not only to give them that festive feel in the run up to Christmas but also to boost the local economy."
