Mayor says thank you to concert goers

Sandwell’s Mayor has expressed her thanks to everyone who got in to the Christmas spirit by attending this year’s Civic Carol Concert at West Bromwich Town Hall.

More than 350 people attended the concert hosted by Mayor, Councillor Dr Ann Jaron, enjoying a programme of carols and singalong festive tunes raising more than £1,500 for her two charities – Brushstrokes Community Project and Sandwell Young Carers.

This year’s concert – the 130th – featured a host of local musical talent including the Sandwell Youth Brass Band and the Saint Catherine of Siena Academy Choir. Councillor Jaron, said:

“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in organising the concert - council staff, the performers and technicians, and especially to those people who came along to give their support on the night.

“It was a joyful and fun evening and got everyone in the Christmas spirit. It’s great news that the concert raised more than £1,500 for this year's Mayoral charities.”

Cllr Jaron added that she would also like to thank Asda Great Bridge for their annual donation of more than 300 mince pies and the Sandwell District Scouts who served refreshments to the concert goers.
