Men charged in connection with Black Country burglaries

Detectives have today charged three men in connection with a series of break-ins across the Black Country.

Officers investigating a string of burglaries across the region detained the trio in Wrexham on Sunday afternoon. After being granted extra time to question the men they have now been charged with conspiracy to burgle nine homes and a further robbery between 8-17 October.

Thomas Wall and Michael Connors, both aged 21 and Michael Wall, 25, and all from Wrexham, have been remanded in custody to appear before Walsall Magistrates Court today (24 October). A 30-year-old man who was also arrested at the weekend has been released with no further action.

Detectives are continuing to probe the series of burglaries across the region and are appealing for anyone with information to contact officers. Detective Inspector Jim Mahon, from force CID, said:

"We don’t underestimate the impact such crimes have on our communities and the widespread anxiety and distress they cause.

"I would like to thank the public and community for their support in this investigation to date. Although these charges are a major step forward in our investigation we still need anyone who has any information relating to the other burglaries across the Black Country to speak to us.

"We would continue to ask the public to remain vigilant and not to open their doors if they are unsure who is visiting.

"We ask that communities look out for any people or vehicles acting suspiciously in their neighbourhoods and report them to us."

Anyone with information can get in touch via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk from 8am to midnight, or call 101 anytime. In an emergency dial 999 immediately.
