Stourbridge MP judges best in show competition

Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb visited 'Bark In The Park' at the weekend and helped judge the Best in Show dog competition.

The popular event at Wollescote Park was attended by families and their dogs to take part in competitions and look around stalls full of doggie treats on a sunny day

Suzanne took along her own pooch Sid, who won a bronze in the waggiest tail category.

She was privileged to be asked to judge the best fancy-dress category and jointly judged the Best in Show with the Deputy Mayor Sue Greenaway. Suzanne said:

“It was a tough one to judge but it was obvious that the Best in Show was Paul, a rescue greyhound who is also looking to be rehomed and currently cared for by the Hall Green Greyhound Trust.

“I spoke to the chairman of the trust and I am looking forward to visiting its centre in Stourbridge soon.

“Sid and I had a great day out and this was a superb family and dog event. I particularly enjoyed the Midland Fret Orchestra who are celebrating their 20th Birthday and looking around the stalls.

“It was a nice dollop of normal life after two years of Covid disruption. Many thanks to the organisers and to all those who came and took part in the dog competitions. It was a fun day had by all.”
