Thousands turn out to enjoy fireworks spectacular

22,000 people turned out to enjoy the night as the borough's annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular returned to Himley Hall.

The sold-out circus themed event, run in association with Jewson, had record numbers attending after being unable to go ahead last year due to the pandemic.

The night’s highlight saw audiences dazzled by an incredible pyrotechnic and visual tributes to the circus theme. During the evening they also enjoyed a night market, street entertainers, seasonal refreshments, circus performers and a huge funfair. Councillor Shaun Keasey, cabinet member for digital, commercial and customer services, said:

"A big thank you to everyone who has turned out this evening to enjoy the Himley bonfire and fireworks, this is the best attended fireworks show we have ever had.

"It’s wonderful to see so many people, of all ages, back in the park enjoying a wonderful evening of entertainment, topped off with one of the best fireworks displays for miles around.

"We missed this event last year and by tonight’s turnout we think others did too. Online sales exceeded our expectations, and I am delighted the event was at capacity."
