Travellers Leave Dudley Playing Fields

A notice attached to the gates of the park called for the travellers to leave the field.

A group of travellers who took up residence on Donkey Pool playing fields have been moved on by the council.

The community moved onto the site earlier this week, but after complaints from residents a court order was seved on August 11th .

The site was cleared later that day, however it remains strewn with rubbish left behind by the trespassers including a childs rocking horse, cardboard waste and food packets.

Local residents are pleased to see the eviction enacted quickly and calmly but one homeowner said that wasn't the end of the problem. He said:

"The council did a great job of clearing the site but I imagine the taxpayer will bear the cost of tidying the site to make it useable.

"The team that cleaned the site in Halesowen found human faeces - my son plays football on there each week and I'm not letting him newr it until I know it's clean.

"It's disgusting."
