Tribute to fallen war heroes

A local sight loss charity has created a unique tribute to fallen war heroes ahead of this month’s remembrance events.

Staff from the Beacon Centre’s Halesowen store have created a handmade dress out of poppies that is currently on display in the shop window.

The dress was made by Sarah and Nikki from the store and took a total of three days to create. They used crepe paper for the poppies which were then pinned together to make the dress. Beacon’s Commercial Manager Rob Evans said:

“Our retail team always like to go the extra mile, but we’ve been blown away by the incredible tribute they have put together for such an important commemoration.

“We’ve had some wonderful feedback and we’re so pleased that the people of Halesowen appreciate our tribute.”

The dress will be on display at the store in Hagley Street, Halesowen until after Remembrance Sunday.
