Dudley Zoo staff have been given a sneak peak at a new art installation at Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, entitled ‘A Brush with Nature’.

The autumn display features 126 pieces of work by members of The Wildlife Art Society International, who visited the Castle Hill zoological attraction in the summer to take inspiration from some of the 1,500 strong exotic animal collection. The zoo's graphic designer, Rachel Lane, who is also a keen painter herself, said:

“It was great to get the chance to preview the exhibition and try and spot some of Dudley Zoo’s animals in the collection. There are some stunning works of art depicted in a variety of mediums and we hope it will be well supported.”

Museum Exhibition Officer, Adrian Durkin, added: “Many of the pictures are truly wonderful and the detail represents many hours of painstaking work. I have no doubt that the zoo staff appreciated the wonderful representations of animals”.

The free exhibition runs until November 19 at the St James’ Road museum, which is open Monday to Saturday, 10am until 4pm.
