Kid's cartoon 'The Jetsons' is being revived!

Good news! The Jetsons is reportedly being revived for TV. Slightly more confusing news – the show will be a live action reboot?!

The much-loved Hanna-Barbera animation follows George Jetson and his family, who live in the futuristic world of 2062, filled with flying cars and aliens.

Although it originally only ran for three seasons – the first in the early 1960s and the second and third in the mid-1980s – reports say that another reboot is in the works.

Family Guy producer and writer Gary Janetti will drive the show, and Warner Bros will shop the series around potential networks in the coming weeks. Janetti will be executive producer alongside Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke, while Jackie Levine will serve as co-executive producer.

Warner Bros has also been working on an animated Jetsons movie, which was first reported back in 2015, with Sausage Party co-director Conrad Vernon developing and possibly directing.

The Jetson family in the original series consisted of George, Jane, Judy and Elroy Jetson, as well as Rosie the Robot. It proved to be Hanna-Barbera's opposite counterpart to The Flintstones, which also focused on a family but was set in the Stone Age.

That cartoon has been adapted for two films in a live-action format, both bombing critically, although the 1994 film was a box office success.
