In Memory and Thanks: An Evening of Remembrance

In Memory and Thanks – An Evening of Remembrance

Hosted by The Link Academy, Netherton

The Link Academy is proud to present In Memory and Thanks, a special evening of remembrance dedicated to honouring the courage, service and sacrifice of those who have served in the Armed Forces.

This meaningful community event will bring together students, serving military personnel, veterans, ex-service personnel, military families and members of the wider community to reflect on the importance of remembrance and express gratitude to those who have served our country.

What to Expect

Throughout the evening, learners from The Link Academy will deliver a series of thoughtful and moving performances, including presentations, music, songs and drama.

These performances will explore themes of remembrance, sacrifice, courage, service and gratitude, providing young people with an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the experiences of those who have served.

The event will also create opportunities for students to meet serving personnel, veterans and military families, listen to their personal stories and learn about the important contributions they have made.

By bringing different generations together, the evening aims to strengthen community connections, preserve personal histories and ensure that the sacrifices of the past are never forgotten.

Why This Event Matters

Remembrance is more than looking back at history. It is about understanding the sacrifices made by others, recognising the importance of peace and ensuring that future generations continue to honour those who served.

Through this event, The Link Academy hopes to inspire its learners to demonstrate respect, compassion, gratitude and a stronger sense of community responsibility.

We warmly invite veterans, military families, Royal British Legion members and the wider community to join us for an evening of reflection, remembrance and thanks.

Together, we remember. Together, we honour. Together, we give thanks.
