Residents urged to vote for Sycamore Adventure

Families are urged to vote for a Dudley borough play centre to help boost its chances of winning thousands of pounds for new soft play equipment.

The Dudley Council-owned Sycamore adventure playground, which offers play activities for children, is competing to win £10,000 through the Aviva Community Fund. If successful, the money would be used to create a new soft play zone in the main indoor play barn.

The soft play zone would help to enhance the centre’s facilities for younger children and those with disabilities, make the centre an all year round facility and support the long term sustainability of the centre with increased opportunities for party and nursery bookings.

People can register and vote up to ten times online at community-fund.aviva.co.uk. Councillor Anne Millward, cabinet member for children’s services, said:

“Sycamore is a fantastic community resource for local families, providing an affordable and enjoyable space for children.  I’d urge local people to get behind the centre and vote for it to win this much needed new equipment which can only help enhance the centre for thousands more children to enjoy.”

The centre is run on donations from families visiting the centre. Last year the award winning centre welcomed more than 23,000 children, which is designed for children of all ages including those with disabilities. Voting for the Aviva community fund closes on November 21.
