Police are looking for the driver and passenger who fled the scene after crashing in Quarry Bank last night.

Emergency services were called to Coppice Lane at 9:30pm to reports a VW Passat had smashed into a Renault Scenic.

Both the male driver and passenger of the Passat abandoned the car and ran off.

The driver of the other car was treated for minor whiplash injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said both cars had to be recovered and officers are now trying to trace the two men.

Anyone who saw the crash or has information relating to the identity of the men should call police on 101, quoting incident number 2545.
