Police have arrested a boy aged 16 after another teenager was injured in an attack with a machete at the Merry Hill centre in Dudley.
The suspect was held at around 5pm on suspicion of wounding with intent after a 17-year-old boy was attacked on Friday afternoon.
It’s believed there was an altercation involving two groups, with one group chasing the other group.
The victim suffered a small cut to the back with a weapon, believed to be a machete, which needed medical attention.
Police received a number of calls from members of the public who were in the centre at the time, at around 3.30pm.
Officers still need to hear from anyone who has mobile phone footage, who saw what happened, or who has any other information.
Extra officers will be patrolling in and around Merry Hill over the weekend to offer reassurance, and speak to anyone with concerns.
Anyone with information can contact police via Live Chat, or by calling 101, quoting log 3541 of 28/11/25.
