Banelec organise Memory Walk in aid of Alzheimer’s Society

Brierley Hill based business, Banelec, are organising a Memory Walk in aid of Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday 5th October.

The lives of staff at Banelec have been affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, just like so many other people, it not only touches the lives of the individuals, but all of the friends, family and carers surrounding them. Office Manager, Jennie Banner said:

“We wanted to organise this Memory Walk to show our support to members of staff for whom the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia have impacted their family and friends.

“We hope this event will raise awareness of this debilitating illness and raise money for vital research into finding a cure and improving the lives of those affected, and help give ongoing support for the dedicated carers.

“We would like to invite people to join us on our walk, if they can’t make the walk, then simply help us promote it by telling friends, or maybe visit our Just Giving page and make a donation, any donation, no matter how small will make a difference.”

The 10km walk will begin at 11am at the Rose and Crown in Wordsley, heading towards Brierley Hill and loop back to Wordsley. The route will consist of mainly flat canal towpath in the Brierley Hill area.

You can download a map and sponsorship forms on the Banelec website or make a donation on the firm's JustGiving page.
