The Bank of England will give an exclusive update on the state of the economy at a special event organised by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
Business leaders will be given a first-hand briefing from the Bank – as well as real-time insights gathered from agents around the country – at the event on June 4.
The briefing – available to the Chamber’s gold, platinum group and patron group members – will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Tipton and Wednesbury Labour MP Antonia Bance.
Head of premium membership, Gail Arnold, said the briefing was a key part of the Chamber’s ongoing Policy, Lobbying and Representation programme.
She said: “This is a chance for our members to stay firmly in the loop with what’s happening at the national level. At a time when the economic environment is challenging, factoring in external geopolitical issues as well as the rising cost of doing business, it’s really important to give members this first hand briefing.
“The Bank is keen that its economic policy reflects every region and industry, which is why members are also invited to share brief updates on a range of business and policy matters – helping to paint a richer, more accurate picture of both the local and national economy.”
The event will take place from 8.30 to 10am at Fairstone, Second Floor, Quay House, Waterfront Way, Brierley Hill.
Immediately after the Bank of England panel, attendees are invited to stay for an exclusive roundtable with Antonia Bance MP, running until 11.45am.
Antonia, a member of the DBT Select Committee, will outline its current areas of focus and discuss how local firms can raise concerns, contribute evidence and navigate upcoming legislative changes.
The roundtable is open only to those attending the Bank of England briefing.
Members wishing to attend the roundtable are asked to email policy@blackcountrychamber.co.uk. For more information about the Bank of England event itself, contact events@blackcountrychamber.co.uk.
