Birth registration service to launch at Coseley and Stourbridge

Parents will be able to register the births of their babies at the Coseley and Stourbridge family hubs from later this month.

Starting from Tuesday 12 September, the Coseley family hub on Bayer Street will be open for birth registrations on Tuesdays, while parents will be able to register births at the Stourbridge family hub on Forge Road on Wednesdays.

Appointments can also be made as normal from Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings at Dudley Register Office and the Thomas Robinson Building in Stourbridge.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said: "We want to do our part to make it easier for parents in the busy days following the births of their babies. Opening up our family hubs in Coseley and Stourbridge for birth registrations will offer them some much-needed extra flexibility. "

Parents are legally obliged to register the birth of their baby within 42 days in the registration district where their baby was born. All birth registrations at a register office or family hub must be arranged by prior appointment. Appointments can be made using the quick and easy online system. All payments must be made by card with no cash accepted.
