Black Country Radio is continuing to develop its listening opportunities and is now available on DAB digital radio across the Dudley borough.
The stations parent company, Waterfront Media CIC, have partnered with the team at DigiMux who successfully bid for a licence from Ofcom to run a multiplex in the area.
This news follows Black Country Radio’s recent FM expansion into north Dudley, where the station can now be picked up on 92.2FM. Station Director, Dave Brownhill said:
“I’m incredibly proud of all the hard work that has taken place behind the scenes to expand the opportunity for people to listen to the station.
“Black Country Radio is now broadcasting on DAB across the area, and we are working on plans to bring our second station, Black Country Xtra, onto the same platform.”
Black Country Xtra was launched online a little over 12 months ago to give creatives and communities a platform for broadcast. It now airs a wide range of shows and continues to evolve.
The news is the latest in a string of successes for the station who were awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2021, for the support it gave to local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Black Country Radio also took home gold at the Community Radio Awards last year and have been nominated again this year.
