Blackheath gets in the festive spirit with annual light switch on

Blackheath Town Centre is ready for some festive fun as the annual Christmas light switch on takes over the High Street.

The traditional start of festivities takes place on Saturday 17th November from 4pm with a host of activities in the main shopping area.

An open air stage will feature live music and entertainment from 'The Shambolics', 'Bhangra Smash Up' and 'Spotlight Dance'. A variety of stalls offering crafts, local produce and traditional goodies will be on offer alongside food, a Christmas market and a fun fair.

Living Statue, Madam Matronic, will be donning her seasonal dress and Santa is visiting Blackheath Library which will be packed with children’s
activities.

The official light switch on takes place at 6pm, with the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Carol Goult, and the characters from 'Frozen' pressing the plunger.
