Brighten up the Black Country and raise money for a local charity

Beacon Centre for the Blind is holding its annual Bright for Sight Day on Thursday, October 12th, which is also World Sight Day.

The charity is asking people to wear on the day and make a donation.

The charity, which has been helping people to live well with sight loss for more than 145 years, says it’s an easy way for people to show their support and help spread the message that bright colours and good contrast can help people to make the most of their sight. Beacon Centre Supporter Engagement Manager Sophie Higgins said:

“Our Bright For Sight Day is one of our favourite days of the year here at Beacon and everyone is welcome to get involved including individuals, families, schools, community groups and local businesses.

“It’s such an easy way for people to support our work and help ensure no one has to face sight loss alone. To join in, all you need to do is wear a bright outfit, donate what you can to Beacon.

"You can do so via our website, Facebook page, or our text donate option and tag us in your pictures on social media with the hashtag #BrightForBeacon.”

People can download their free Bright For Sight fundraising pack on Beacon’s website.
