The operators of the vaccination centre have announced the venue will be open around the clock for appointments until 8pm on Christmas Eve.
The move comes after SW Healthcare, who run the centre, trialed a 24-hour ‘Jab-a-thon’ between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
In that 24 hour period, almost 2,000 people were vaccinated as a mixture of appointments and walk-in’s. A spokesman for SW Healthcare said:
“The team here deserve a lot of credit for turning it around and setting it up so quickly. As soon as we heard, everyone was on it.
“We only found out about the need at the same time as the public on Sunday night.
“Between 6pm and 8pm in the initial Jab-a-thon, 10 vaccines were being administered every five minutes, it’s an incredible effort.”

People are urged to keep checking if there are no slots available as appointments are uploaded in batches.
