Business Help At Borough Libraries

A series of workshops to help new and expanding businesses begin this month at borough libraries.

As part of the ‘Business Starts Here’ initiative, Dudley Libraries are offering a series of workshops that focus on the key issues faced by those who are trying to launch or grow a small business.

The workshops will focus on getting a business idea off the ground including sales, marketing and social media and small business improvement.

The first session, how to get a business idea off the ground, runs on Friday 17 February from 10am to 12pm where visitors can learn how to develop a business strategy, finance a business, and how to take the first steps towards self-employment. The interactive and productive workshop lasts two hours and is led by a local business leader who runs successful companies of his own.

On Friday 17 March from 2 to 4pm there’s a chance to take part in sales, marketing, and social media for small businesses. This workshop covers how to find and develop new customers for a small business with little or no expense. Students will learn how to use LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook for sales and marketing.

Finally, on Wednesday 19 April from 2 to 4pm there is planning for small business improvement.  This workshop, led by a local business expert, cuts through financial jargon and gives the techniques needed to be more in control of business finances and improve profitability.
