Chamber of Commerce announces Ascot Ladies Day event

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce are calling on the region’s businesswomen to don their frocks and fascinators and spend the afternoon with Black Country Women in Leadership for Royal Ascot Ladies Day.

The first racing event for the Chamber’s Women in Leadership initiative, the afternoon of fun, food, natter and networking, will be held at the beautiful Fairlawns Hotel and Spa in Aldridge near Walsall on Thursday 22nd June.

A Pimm’s reception from 1.30pm in the gardens, followed by live coverage of Ascot Ladies Day over a sumptuous afternoon tea in the newly refurbished Willow and Orchard Room, is planned for the day which is expected to attract businesswomen, and men, from across the region.

Live streaming of the glamorous event, starting with the Royal procession at 2pm through to the last race at 6.15pm and post racing celebrations from the Royal Ascot bandstand, is a race meeting like no other and attracts race goers from across the world, so guests to the Fairlawns are being encouraged to bring along their iPads or phones to place their bets online as the afternoon of racing and fabulous fashion gets underway.

With the first race at 2.30pm, afternoon tea will be served at 3pm, and include a selection of sumptuous sandwiches with lots of sweet and savoury offerings, freshly baked scones, lashings of clotted cream and a selection of Fairlawns’ seasonal homemade miniature desserts with tea and coffee.

And, whilst the event is not just for the ladies, it’s synonymous with fashion so the Chamber are encouraging guests to dress up to the nines with super prizes planned for the best outfit, hat or headpiece.
