Chancellor George Osbourne has given the go-ahead for the Waterfront in Brierley Hill to become an enterprise zone.
Mr Osbourne made the announcement in yesterday’s budget.
Dudley South MP Mike Wood says he’s been lobbying the Chancellor for the last 12 months to designate the area an Enterprise Zone, and help revive its fortunes.
Mr Wood said the project is likely to create 4’000 new jobs, and would link in well with the Metro extension announced before Christmas.
And ten jobs have been created following the refurbishment of a Halesowen pub.
The Foxhunt Harvester on the Hagley Road was closed for two weeks while the revamp was carried out, and reopened earlier this month.
