Dudley borough residents are being reminded to lookout for details of this year’s Christmas recycling and waste collections.
Households will have altered collections between Monday 25 December 2017 and Monday 1 January 2018, flyers detailing the changes are being delivered to all borough homes. Details of the altered collections are also available at dudley.gov.uk/recycling and by contacting Dudley Council Plus.
Recycling and waste should be placed at the boundary edge of the property for collection by 6.15am. Residents are advised that collections may be earlier or later than usual during the Christmas period.
Residents are asked to ensure that the grey bin lid is shut and to not put out any additional sacks of waste as these will not be collected. Additional free recycling blue/green bags and black boxes are available by telephoning Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345 for residents who wish to have additional recycling facilities.
Any additional, bulky waste can be collected via the council’s chargeable bulky waste collection service.
The household waste sites, located in Stourbridge and Coseley, also recycle a large number of items including Christmas trees and unwanted electrical goods. Both sites are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment, said:
“Dudley Council offers residents an excellent collection service throughout the year and we understand how important the Christmas and New Year collection is to our residents.
“Over the next couple of weeks we will be distributing flyers to all borough households detailing changes to the collection service over the festive season. I would ask everyone to retain these leaflets and refer to them as a reminder about their temporary dates.”
