Borough residents are reminded that there are changes to this year’s Christmas waste and recycling collections over the festive period.
Households will have altered collections between Monday 25 December 2017 and Monday 1 January 2018 and flyers detailing the changes have been delivered to all borough homes.
Details of the altered collections are also available on www.recyclingfordudley.org.uk and by contacting Dudley Council Plus.
Recycling and waste should be placed at the boundary edge of your property for collection by 6.15am and residents are advised that collections may be earlier than usual during the Christmas period.
Residents are asked to ensure that the grey bin lid is shut and to not put out any additional sacks of waste as these cannot be collected.
Any additional, bulky waste can be collected via the council’s chargeable bulky waste collection service. The household waste sites, located in Stourbridge and Coseley, also recycle a large number of items including Christmas trees and unwanted electrical goods. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment, said:
“The waste and recycling collection team would like to take this opportunity to wish borough residents a recycling filled festive season. We want to make sure that everyone knows that their collection service is temporarily changed over the Christmas and New Year period as we know how important this collection service is to everyone.
“Everyone is reminded of the wealth of items which can be recycled, including wrapping paper, cards, cardboard boxes, tins, cans, jars and bottles so please use the containers you have been provided with and recycle as much as possible.”
