Council housing team makes big donation to local food bank

Generous staff from Dudley Council’s housing team have donated several bags of food and household essentials to the Black Country Food Bank.

Members of the council’s housing income team collected supplies to donate throughout November before handing over the items to the food bank.

The team managed to fill more than ten large bags with dried and tinned food, long life milk, fruit juice, kitchen rolls, toilet paper and other household products.

The donations will go to individuals and families across the Black Country who are in need this Christmas. Councillor Laura Taylor-Childs, cabinet member for housing and communities, said:

“Our housing income team has come together to support some of the most vulnerable people in our area and I’m so proud of their compassion and kindness.

“The team work tirelessly to help those who are in need of extra support and always go the extra mile.

“I know their generosity will be much appreciated by the Black Country Food Bank during these challenging times.”
