Council leader hits back at "worst tourist attraction" criticism

Dudley Council leader Pete Lowe has hit back at critics who’ve branded the town’s new Ferris wheel “the worst tourist attraction in Britain”.

The ride in the town centre has attracted ridicule because of its views of factories and car parks. But Mr Lowe dismissed such criticism as nonsense.

He says it shows the regeneration of the town and it’s possible to see things that forged the whole of the Industrial Revolution.

The DY Eye ride was launched on Saturday and costs £4.50. It will be in Stone Street Square for a month.
