Walsall-based arts charity, RicNic has launched The Big Walsall Waddle walking trail this summer to celebrate their 21st birthday.
The Waddle see's 21 colourful and quirky ducks waiting to be discovered in venues across the town.
Sponsored by the Canal & River Trust, the trail is open until Wednesday 10 September and is challenging local families to find all 21 ducks which have been decorated by local groups.
Walsall Council’s venues across the borough are backing the trail, and housing some of ducks in key locations for families to find.
Each duck has its own name and meaningful story, and families can even vote for their favourite as part of the competition, which will be revealed at a finale event on 13 September 2025 at Walsall Makerfest.
Councillor Gary Flint, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Health and Wellbeing at Walsall Council said: “What a fun activity The Big Walsall Waddle is to get involved with this summer.
“Of course, the council is taking good care of some of the ducks in our venues across Walsall, and we will be housing them whilst they await to be discovered by children and families taking part in the trail.
“As a bit of a hint and tip, I recommend visiting your local library or leisure centre, and who knows, a duck may appear!”

"We hope that this initiative will bring the local community together in a fun and engaging way.”

In addition to the trail, children can enter a duck-themed story and/or design their own duck model for a chance of winning a prize hamper. Duck templates are available to download from ricnic.org.uk.
