Sandwell Council is making changes to some bin collection days as part of its 12-month review of the Alternate Weekly Collections system, where general waste and recycling bins are collected on different weeks.
Some residents will have a new collection day, and some may see a change to which bins are collected each week.
The changes follow a review of collection rounds carried out by the Council and its waste collection partner, Serco. The aim is to make collections more reliable, improve efficiency and help keep services running smoothly across the borough.
The Council has also added three extra collection crews to support the service.
Councillor Ray Nock, Leader of Sandwell Council, said: "Residents have told us they want reliable bin collections and a simple service they can depend on. We've listened and made changes to help improve collections across Sandwell.
"Reviews like this are a normal part of managing a waste collection service, and we’re investing in additional crews to help us strengthen the service for our residents.
"I'd like to thank residents for their continued support, including their efforts to recycle more to create a cleaner and greener Sandwell."
The changes will take effect from 16 November 2026. Households with collection changes will receive a leaflet explaining any new collection arrangements and a calendar showing which bins should be put out on each collection date.
Residents can find out more information, check their collection day and download a collection calendar at sandwell.gov.uk/bins.
The Council continues to encourage residents to recycle as much as possible and to put the right items in the right bins, helping more materials to be recycled and reducing contamination.
