Councillor calls for volunteers for Tanhouse planter revamp

Plans to restore the planters in Tanhouse are set to move ahead after funding for the project was secured by the Liberal Democrats in Dudley Council’s recent budget.

The improvements will see the existing planters refreshed and replanted, helping to brighten the area and create something residents can take pride in.

Local councillors say the project is also a chance for the community to get involved and help look after the space.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Ethan Stafford, who secured the funding, is now calling on local volunteers who would like to help with planting and maintaining the displays.

Cllr Stafford said: “Tanhouse is my home, so I’m really proud to have secured the funding to sort out the planters. They have looked neglected for far too long.

“Now I’d love local people to get involved as well. If anyone wants to help with the planting or keeping them looking good, please get in touch.”

Councillors are waiting hear from Dudley Council when the work can be expected to begin, with opportunities for residents to take part in community planting days.
