Council’s Christmas opening times reminder

People are being reminded to check when council services are running over the Christmas period.

The council has produced a one-stop checklist of how the festive period affects opening times. It includes information on housing, bin collections, how to reach staff in an emergency and much more.

Emergency frontline services will continue over the festive break, however household waste and recycling collection dates have been altered between Monday 24 December and Friday 4 January. Residents are being written to directly with detailed information on how their service is affected. Councillor Qadar Zada, leader of the council, said:

"There are lots of council services still running over the Christmas period, especially those emergency frontline services that people depend on. Many people are elderly and vulnerable and need to know that we are still here for them.

"Other services may be affected with alternative opening times or contact details – it is important people check these before travelling to libraries, leisure centres and other popular activities. We have produced a list for people check, including those all-important emergency contact details.”

Services’ opening hours are available to view at dudley.gov.uk/xmasopeningtimes and include Dudley Council Plus, housing services, libraries, leisure centres and more.
