A Cradley man who masturbated in public three times in one day has been jailed for outraging public decency.

Arshad Azad, whose address was given as Slade Road, which backs onto Colley Lane Primary, was caught pleasuring himself under clothing on a bus in Halesowen on August 15.

He was also caught masturbating in front of several members of the public on the same day and then under clothing outside a coffee shop in Halesowen.

The 62-year-old admitted outraging public decency and was sentenced to 28 weeks in prison.

Azad committed the offences while subject to a suspended sentence for 'similar offences'.

Court papers showed that order was made on May 13 in relation to four incidents that took place between June 23, 2021 and August 1 this year.

On those occasions, he was convicted of committing an act outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner. Two of those occasions saw him "masturbating in his window in full view of members of the public on a residential street near a primary school".

Magistrates jailed Azad at a hearing on August 17. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154.
