Residents in Cradley have voted against setting up a parish council following a feasibility study.
The study, which asked residents if they would be in favour or not, ran throughout September and October and attracted 1,269 responses.
Of those 1,045 voted no, 217 said yes and 3 said they were unsure.
Balvinder Heran, chief executive of Dudley Council, said: “I would like to thank everyone who took part in the feasibility study.
“The results will be reported back to full council at its next meeting on December 1.”
The concept was first mooted by the ward's three LIberal Democrat councillors, including Cllr Ryan Priest. e told Black Country Radio he was 'disappointed' with the result, but respected the right of local residents to choose.
The meeting of Full Council takes place from 6pm in the council chamber at Dudley Council House and members of the public are welcome to attend.
