David Walliams favourite schedules extra date in Wolverhampton

Due to popular demand, an extra performance of David Walliams’ 'Awful Auntie' has been added at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

The extra show, at 3pm on Sunday 30 September, follows eight other performances of the tale at the Grand Theatre beginning on Wednesday 26 September.

From the award-winning West End producers of Gangsta Granny comes the world premiere of Walliams’ amazing tale of frights, fights and friendship, featuring a very large owl, a very small ghost and a very awful Auntie!

When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, Lord and Lady Saxby, she has no idea her life is in danger! Waking up three months later, only her Aunt Alberta can tell Stella what has happened. But not everything Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she’s in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie!

Awful Auntie was published in September 2014 and went to No.1 in the children’s’ book chart for seven weeks. The paperback was published in February 2016 and became the best-selling children’s paperback of the year. Combined sales of the hardback and paperback have now reached over a million copies.

Awful Auntie has helped to make Walliams one of the country’s best-selling children’s authors. His books have been translated into more than 50 languages, bringing worldwide sales to more than 17 million and three of his books have won National Children’s Book Awards.

Tickets for the show are now on sale - with best availability for 3pm on Sunday 30 September. Tickets can be bought online at grandtheatre.co.uk, in person at the Box Office or by calling 01902 42 92 12.
