Disney legend, Lea Salonga brings UK tour to Wolverhampton

Musical theatre royalty, Lea Salonga is bringing her extraordinary talent to Wolverhampton Grand with her new UK tour.

The Olivier and Tony winner, best known for providing the singing voices of both Mulan and Princess Jasmine in the 1992 Disney film, Aladdin, has also had an extensive stage career.

she originated the role of Kim in both the Broadway and West End productions of Miss Saigon and was the first performer of Asian descent to portray both Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway.

Stage, Screen & Everything In Between will also see Lea's first return to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane – the iconic venue where she made her name in Miss Saigon 35 years ago – having previewed her spine-tingling vocals at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on Friday 21 June.

During the show, musical theatre fans will experience stage and screen classics from Lea’s best known roles, new-found favourites from the critically acclaimed West End hit Old Friends and much more. Lea said:

“I have so much love for UK audiences, so I am thrilled to be able to share some of the many wonderful songs I have sung throughout my career with fans once more – as well as some treats from ‘in between’ too.

“With my last two tours here we have had so much fun and I have made so many memories so I look forward to doing this once again and to travelling to such beautiful venues across the country.”

As Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, Lea recorded the iconic Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning Disney love song, A Whole New World, followed by her performance as Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II, roles which earned her the official title of 'Disney Legend'.

Tickets for 'Lea Salonga - Stage, Screen & Everything In Between' are on sale to members on Thursday 7 December at 10am, public sale will open at 10am on Friday 8 December.
