An award-winning DJ from Worcestershire has released a heartfelt new single with all of the proceeds supporting Dementia UK.
Allun Evans, better known as DJ Kideva, has created a new take on The Power Of Love, originally released by Frankie Goes To Hollywood in 1984, and hopes to raise as much money possible for the specialist Dementia nursing charity.
The release blends uplifting melodies with his signature atmospheric sound, and celebrates "connection, compassion and the strength found in community", themes that echo the vital work Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses provide to families affected by the illness.
Kideva, who also presents a Saturday evening dance show on Black Country Radio, said: “This project comes from a place of deep gratitude. Dementia touches so many lives including my own, and I wanted to use music as a way to give back, to shine a light, and to help support the incredible work Dementia UK does every day.
"The choice of song was a suggestion made by a good friend and colleague, Nigel Ball after I put out a social media post asking for suggestions. I instantly knew his suggestion was right."
100% of All of proceeds from the single will be donated directly to the charity, helping to ensure more families have access to the specialist support they need.
The Power of the Love is available now on all major streaming platforms. For information on the work done by Dementia UK, you can visit dementiauk.org.
