Dudley Council has agreed a deal in principle for Ladies Walk in Sedgley, the leader of the authority has revealed.
The acquisition is subject to formal approval by full council early this year, but Councillor Patrick Harley said it was an “important milestone” in securing the long-term provision of library and health services in the village.
He said: “I am pleased to confirm that we have agreed to the terms of acquiring the Ladies Walk property. We will be seeking a formal council decision early this year.
“We are fully aware how important the facilities this building provides are to residents in Sedgley, and the strength of feeling around saving it.
“I see this move by the council as incredibly positive, and an important milestone towards securing the long-term provision of library and health services in Sedgley.
“We are unable to disclose any further details at this stage of the process due to commercial sensitivity, but look forward to sharing more details on this very soon.”
